I’m meant to be an English teacher, but Vietnam has a habit of throwing new, unexpected opportunities and experiences at you on an almost daily basis so I seem to have unwittingly become a Jack-of-all-trades. In my spare time I’ve recently taken up writing, here are a few pieces I’ve managed to convince people to publish:

For The Guardian:

  2. Hi Alex. Great idea for a blog. Been looking through all your posts – so typical of Vietnam! We spent some time in both the north and the south and were endlessly entertained by what they carry on bikes. And we survived crossing the road in both Hanoi and Saigon. Loved the story about your nan.
Thanks for following our blog. I hope you enjoy the stories of our journey. And don’t be a stranger. Feel free to join the conversation.
    Cheers, and happy teaching
